Sorry for the Sheriff Sticks, I doubt he ever even wanted to post for help.
The problems we have been dealing with are hard to explain. Strange things have been happening on the outskirts of Midway, and the citizens as well as visiters are begining to get nervous about our safety and well being.
They roughly as far as I know started 7 months ago I believe when 8 foot tall dog came to town, we all just thought it had eatin somethingin th woods. Lets be honest here buddy most believed I was the cause of Fido.

So...you have one 8 foot tall dog and your sending out a call for adventurers from 5 different regions to investigate and aid you?
Does the dog breath fire? Is it swallowing people whole? Does it phase in and out of reality? Do undead climb out of the ground at its passing? Does it get bloodthirsty and violent on the full moon? Has it gone around sniffing for virgins to do "things" to?
Pardon my response, but you just called for adventurers that are busy dealing with Liches, undead hordes, Wars, negotiating peace treaties, balancing the elemental planes and performing ritual magics to help you deal with an 8 foot tall dog?
I think you might want to re-evaluate your need for assistance or else tell us what is really going on.

P.S. Your sheriff is an idiot...

Well Sticks my good man at least you read the words you wished to. If you go ahead and reread all of the words which have been posted you would notice That as I stated our troubles are hard to explain and that the FIRST thing was a mutated dog, it has been dealt with killing 2 people in the process permantly. I hope that is enough information on that subject for you. People have gone missing creature have been ventureing far closer to Midway then ever before. Also the Sheriff's CALL as you stated was a mere asking for help for a situation/situations we do not understand and are not quite sure what precautions and steps to take in the future to insure our survival in this lands.
But I am sure you need not worry since to me you seem far to busy and important to help us less important issues. Please do not speak of the sheriff that way again.
~SNAKE~ Proveyer of Fine and Exotic Spirits p.s. I apologize Sticks for my shortness with you as your words seemed insulting to us and our sheriff. Although you seem like a busy man if you find your way to join us or just pass through the First drink at my place is on me, and maybe we could explain a bit more in a less open setting.

Having situations you dont understand is all fine and dandy, but if you and your illustrious sheriff dont even want to explain what you know about them how are people supposed to help?
Your original message indicates "Strange things are happening" and "people are nervous". Not exactly a precise and detailed accounting of your problems.
We dont need you to explain the the full details of the problem but just saying "We have problems and cant talk about them because we dont understand them" seems intentionally elusive, or perhaps just lazy and unconcerned enough that its not worth the time and energy to elaborate.
Your Big dog story is a good start. As adventurers we dont need you to understand where the big dog came from, but I would hope you understand what a big dog is. Adding in the information that it killed two people before it was destroyed also lets us know that it was hostile (a fact which was left up to question in your original statement....for all we know it just wanted to play fetch).
I dont understand your reluctance to talk about your problems but when your truly ready to fill people in on what you do know (even if you dont understand it) feel free to speak up. Until then I wish you the best of luck in your attempted con job to bring adventurers to your town to deal with "obscure and unknown" problems.

:slides pint to Sticks: Heres the thing this is a small town we are not used to well really anthing out of the usual here. To explain a bit more of the occurances, the day after the last large snow fall one of the farmers had a full crop of full grown ripe watermelons appear in his field overnight. We dont know what to do or how to react about that. Most things have been anocuous, however more and more they are becomeing physical, i.e. the dog, golblins raiding our stores of food, more and more bandit attacks, strange shapes of energy forming and eavorating. The town is begining to die with all the people leaving and superstitions going around. I hope that helps a little bit more.
I will admit we are all on edge of late so please be patient.

:Sniffs at the pint for a minute or two savoring the scent of a good drink and then taking a sip while Snake explains things
See...now we are getting somewhere and can start to get some work done.
Lets see if I understand what all we have.
Goblin problems Bandit problems Wild and unexplained magic
Have you seen anything that connects any of these? Any indications that the bandits or the goblins could be behind the strange magics? What about any indication that the bandits and the goblins are working together, or perhaps even indication that they are working against each other?
Do the shapes have any particular shape or color to them? Anything that stands out about them?
Most of these issues seem rather minor. Goblins and bandits are usually pretty easy to deal with and I am sure some adventurers will come along and help out with that. The larger problem in my mind is the random magical events. That might take some more scholarly people to look into, but in the time it takes for those issues to be dealt with your losing business.
:Takes a long pull on his drink and sets down an empty tankard
Lets be honest here. Your problem is that you dont like the fact that something is scaring away your customers?

So if anybody wants a job and knows there way around a kitchen please let me know am also looking for a new wench to serve food and lend a hand with the cooking. The pay is descent, drinks are free and the benefits are great.

Well, it's my personal belief that Philospher Gio got some of our people! That's what happens when you bumble around trying to make your fortune in an old and magically unstable land. I am overwhelmed with errant adventurer's needing healing and various potions. The curses, taints and backlashes are flying. So, by all means - come and help us find out what has happened to the missing, but try to be smart about it and don't come empty handed! Any decent healers and formalists of all flavors are certainly welcome to stop in at the Guild Hall. I can use all the help I can get.- Guildmistress Constance, Sister of the Arch Keepers

You would think when someone takes a contract on me they would , out of general principle , bring some back up. To his credit he did make me use a dodge.Sorry I can't stick around and help you with your problems - they do sound interesting - but Benazir is anxious to finish the blood hunt. Fortune favors the bold! I look forward to adding Midway to my trade route upon my return. Just a simple merchant.......... Vlad

So this is where Neville has been hiding. I shall be in town for the next gathering. I will be bringing Randolf Ironforge with me. Is there anything you need from me? Other than good conversation. I have been working the last few years and am looking forward to a nice rest. I can't remember the last time I slept!
